We spent Christmas in California and had a great time. It was so great to see family and also to have my amazing photographer sister-in-law there. She takes the best pictures!! On Christmas Eve we put on a play of the nativity and had lots of fun going through the old dress up box looking for costumes. It brought back such fun memories. I spent so much time costumes and not checking my story sources. As we were putting on our play, I was reading from the bible and waiting for the part with the wisemen would come. The wisemen waited patiently in the wings, but the narrator (me) couldn't find them, so the eldest wiseman improvised his part! It was quite funny! Skyler was a very beautiful baby Jesus and Gavin was a very impatient Shepard.

We had such a nice time being with family and having a great holiday season. Here are some of the great pics that Melissa took while we were together.

While we were there we took a trip over to the tide pools. The kids loved checking everything out. We found me a big crab ... that was definitely the highlight of the trip. We found lots of sea enenemies and star fish. It's always fun to be near the ocean. It makes me feel so at home.

After the tide pools we ventured over to Baker Beach in San Francisco. The best thing about this beach is that it is right at the base of the Golden Gate ... the worst part is that the part closest to the bridge is a nude beach. You would think that in December on a cold day that you wouldn't come across and nudists, but sure enough there was one playing in the surf with a fresbie. Sick! We stayed back so as not to see more detail then just a flesh colored blob down the beach. In this collage you can see that Gavin took his turn as being a nudist on the beach! I probably shouldn't include this but it was just too cute to resist.

We had a fantastic time in California and a great Christmas!
